Better Business Bureau (BBB) This is a private organization that documents and arbitrates complaints between consumers and businesses. They’re a great source to check a company’s reputation and reliability.



American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA) This is a private organization made up pf various moving companies, designed to help both the customer and the moving company. They help decipher government regulations and can help with any questions regarding moving.



New York State Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) All moves happening within a state are governed by that state’s D.O.T. Call to verify each mover’s license and insurance coverage.



Federal Highway Administration (FHA) This federal agency governs all interstate moves. For long distance moves, call the FHA to verify each mover’s license and insurance coverage.
